THE BLACK BULL

265 YEARS OF ALMOST FORGOTTEN HISTORY

The Black Bull is a public house built on the corner of the cross roads in Gateacre Village, but its true age and past had been lost to history… until now.

This 76 page document is the result of 12 months of concentrated research into the history of this Grade II listed building. Not only did the job entail discovering the past, but it also evidencing its context.

Where possible, sources have been contacted directly including members of past company owners including Porterhouse and Allied Domeq.

This document is structured into chapters that tell the story of The Black Bull followed by evidential pages that (where possible) back-up each section of the transcript.
